Why buyers need to understand this
Owning property in Europe does not by itself grant a right to stay. Australians usually travel to the Schengen area as short-stay visitors, and viewing trips, renovation supervision and seasonal use all have to fit inside those limits or inside a separate permission.

- Short-stay limits are counted across the whole Schengen area, not per country
- Some EU countries are outside Schengen and are counted separately
